Exploring Late Start Options: SURVEY OPEN

This is the image for the news article titled Exploring Late Start Options: SURVEY OPENRecently, the Royal School District, in cooperation with the Royal Education Association, assembled a committee to study and recommend the most effective way to use our late start days. We are now seeking staff, parent, and community input!

Currently, we are looking at two possible changes, including moving late starts from Mondays to Fridays and adding an hour for a total of a two-hour late start. The current one-hour late start provides time for our teachers to work with each other in finding the best way to serve our students and improve their educational experience. The time for the additional hour would be used to expand teacher collaboration time, create behavioral interventions, and provide additional staff training.

Changes with the late start schedule would take effect at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year and must first be approved by the school board. In order to help guide us in our decision, we are asking for parents/guardians and staff to complete the following survey (one adult per family). The survey will close December 3, 2021.  Thank you for your input!
