The proposed 2022 EP&O Levy is for the same collection amount of $1.37 million last approved by voters in 2020. Levy funds are used to maintain educational programs and offerings in Royal schools that are not fully funded by the State, including smaller class sizes, athletics, extra-curricular activities, student health services and nurses, school counselors, CTE programs, technology, and much more.

The 2022 levy will replace the district's expiring levy last approved in 2020 and is NOT a new tax. The proposed levy tax rate is $1.61 in 2023 and $1.59 in 2024. These tax rates are below the allowed state levy cap of $2.50 per $1,000 assessed value.

Registered voters should expect to receive their ballots for the upcoming special election in the mail by the last week of January. Ballots must be returned or postmarked by 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 8th.
